Many Indians and Western scholars are deeply disappointed by CNN's coverage of events in Afghanistan and the recent India-Pakistan tensions. CNN's top journalists and anchor persons, including Wolf Blitzer and Christiane Amanpour, seem frozen in a Cold War geopolitical mindset.... Expand

The truth is Rajiv Malhoyra if he exists and is an Indian is not famous but infamous in India as a foreign plant and stooge

Rajiv Malhotra caters to his outside India friends so they push the button for him so the hits. This man is neither an intellect or an honest person but is only a foreign prop used to infiltrate India and her culture. He will never be accepted in India.

Congrats for a good petition which I had signed months ago. I would like to see you also look at Fox news too. They have given 'airtime'(on website) to an extreme India baiter, and have refused to respond to my genuine feedback. Please see attached websites of Ken Layne as featured by Fox Ken Layne wrote (not on Fox): Let's Hear It For India! [May 13, 1998] Congratulations, India. After decades of being the world's leading provider of bus plunges, caste systems, shameless corruption, Hindu-Moslem massacres, murderous bandits and religions built around magical blue monkeys, you've finally made the front pages. The self-proclaimed "world's largest democracy" blew up a trio of nukes Monday, and has been drooling with crazed pride ever since. Meanwhile, the entire civilized world has responded with stunned revulsion. Translate the statements from Washington, Moscow, Tokyo, Brussels, and Beijing, and you basically get, "Are you goddamned people insane?" India has answered with a resounding "Sure are!" Murli Manohar Joshi, India's science and technology minister, said his country's loony tests "will only deter an arms race." Meanwhile, India's ancient enemies Pakistan and China spun into a mad frenzy to prove they, too, can test nuclear bombs. Pakistan and India have fought three savage wars, while China and India have one vicious little border battle under their belts. South Asia is the Land of Crackpots, and India's nuke party is bound to turn into a long, ugly and potentially catastrophic settling of grudges. But to read the Indian newspapers, one would think New Delhi scientists had just discovered a cure for cancer: "INDIA FLEXES NUCLEAR MUSCLE" screamed a headline in the Indian Express, while the Hindustan Times declared the bomb tests "a moment of pride." The Pioneer turned out a slogan straight from Stalinist Russia, proclaiming the nuke blasts "an explosion of self-esteem." And CBS radio reported Tuesday night that Indians were celebrating in the streets with parties and massive fireworks displays. What? The new Indian government -- a bunch of wacko Hindu nationalists -- is also taking the opportunity to jabber about the injustice of the world. Somehow, the countries that developed nuclear weapons and finally learned to control the bombs are in charge of the world. That's awfully unfair, sez India. Well, the world's unfair. Hell, India's awfully unfair -- especially if you're one of the wretched millions not born into the right caste, or a Moslem, or a filthy kid with the Plague. Or a poor guy with functioning kidneys ... My response to them: Bus Plunges: Let's also talk about Amtrak Shameless corruption: Let's talk about Nixon, Hoover and the Priests too. Or the charities for 9/11. Hindu-Muslim massacres: Let's talk about where the Red Indians are today? Land of Crackpots: Ken would know more about Crack and Pot Murderous Bandits: Let's talk about Enron... and Crime statistics in general....guess who comes out on top in urban Crime? Blue Monkeys and Religions based on them: Lets talk again about Priests and a religion based on little red boys Filthy kid with Plague: Let's talk about the origin of AIDS and also mental disease ...Columbine and Ken Layne for example Sorry that men like Ken invite these sort of cheap and odious comparisons by their provocative talk...every country and every individual has a mix of good and bad....people like Ken won't speak or see anything positive about any culture or person....as I said: he speaks excellently only about the state of his own mind.... But my point is that Fox has teamed up with him to paint the subcontinent black. So we must teach this upstart Foxy News Network a lesson by boycotting them...they have obviously exceeded the size of their own shoes...sucess has gone to their head. Above was my unanswered response. If we let Fox news carry articles by a well known India basher as they have done at http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,54142,00.html we will have men like Ken Layne at http://www.tabloid.net/layne/25/ scumming India intensely very soon. Please get them to take Ken Layne 'off the air' Thanks Sanjaya

Indian Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee has called for calm after up to 50 people were killed when an angry mob set fire to a passenger train in the western state of Gujerat. The train was carrying dozens of Hindu activists returning from the north Indian town of Ayodhya where they had been demanding the government build a temple on the ruins of a 16th century mosque destroyed nearly a decade ago. At least 18 others were seriously injured in the attack on the Sabarmati Express service which happened Wednesday morning near the station at town of Godhra. Officials have refused to confirm the identity of the attackers saying only that a mob of about 2,000 firebombed the train setting four of the cars alight and nearly destroying one of them. Most of those killed are believed to be Hindu activists. The number of dead is expected to rise. Calling for calm Vajpayee said the government was "very worried" about the incident and urged all communities to respect the law. "I will ask people to be patient, they should not get excited or incited," he said. "The country's unity and the spiritual brotherhood should be maintained at all costs." The demolition of Ayodhya's Babri mosque in 1992 sparked riots between Hindus and Muslims across the country that left more than 2,000 people dead. Police say the Hindu activists traveling on the train had earlier confronted a group of Muslims at a nearby train station. Extra security forces are being rushed to the area with a curfew imposed on the town and police being given orders to shoot on sight any troublemakers. The government has promised a full-scale inquiry into the attack. The town of Godhra has a sizeable Muslim population and has been scene to several clashes between Hindus and Muslims in the past. Police have also been put on heightened alert in Ayodhya where some 11,000 security personnel have already been deployed. The activists traveling on the train belonged to the World Hindu Council which has called on supporters to travel to Ayodhya to put pressure on the government to allow construction of the temple. Over the past few days an estimated 15,000 followers have taken up that call and traveled to the town. The Council has said it plans to begin building work on the temple by March 15, ignoring court orders banning any construction at the site. Vajpayee has publicly appealed to Hindu activists to call off their campaign saying they should respect legal rulings on the disputed site. Hindu activists have said they will not wait, but have pledged their campaign to get the temple built will be carried out peacefully.

http://asia.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2001/hajj/stories/women/index.html Notice how the above CNN article is so sympathetic towards Islam's status for women. This is just the OPPOSITE of the treatment given to Hinduism when it comes to depicting the status of women. This stereotyping of Hinduism is often justified in the name of liberalism or wanting to help the oppressed women. But why is there less interest in helping the women of Islam by the same methods? The answer: Indians have sold out their own tradition, and the western media merely follows suit. Muslim discourse is controlled by those loyal to Islam. Hence, outsiders dare not mess around.

We Indians represent the one sixth of the human beings on planet earth, and we belog to a country that is a beautiful collage of cultures race and religion. I have stopped watching CNN, and it is time we all write to CNN that if they do not cater to our needs we will stop watching them. A million indians in America make a bigger (educated viewership) base that can force CNN to talk to us. Why watch CNN should be our next topic!

CNN and New York Times, unfortunately keep switching their tune depending upon US foreign policy. About a year ago things were very different when India was becoming post cold war ally. However since 9/11, Pakistan has all of a sudden become a key ally in fight against the terrorist. US is trying to catch a mad dog by its tail, which will one days come to bite it again. These two news agencies, instead of being a standard in journalism have become a newsletter for US foreign policy, even with that they are just focusing on short term policy and not looking out for long term US interest.

It is a very good articles on CNN's biased reporting. I hope this will enlighten CNN on what exactly is happening in the Indian sub-continent, as India has been a victim of terrorism for several years.
